3 facts that demonstrate the success of Business Central

Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is unprecedentedly popular with SMB organizations. That's not just a statement; the numbers are hard proof of this! Here are 3 facts about Business Central that underline the huge success of this ERP system for SMEs:

1. The number of companies working with Business Central will double (!) by 2021.

Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is the successor to Microsoft Dynamics NAV and its first release was on April 2, 2018. Since then, the number of users has grown rapidly. By 2021, the number of organizations using Business Central will have grown from 11,000 to 22,000. A doubling! These are both customers upgrading from NAV to Business Central and customers for whom an ERP system from Microsoft is new. The intuitive and pleasant user interface, and the extensive capabilities explain the success of Business Central.

2. There are approximately 70 locations available from Business Central

Microsoft is a "global player" with high name recognition and excellent reputation in all continents. Business Central is available all over the world and essentially with the same features and functionalities everywhere. But because countries differ in laws and regulations, specific functionalities are needed per region and/or country. These are called localizations. The Netherlands has the NL localization, with which you work with a version of Business Central that perfectly matches the laws and regulations of the Netherlands. In total, there are about 70 localizations available. Partly released by Microsoft, partly by local partners.

3. There are more than 3,500 partners worldwide who sell Business Central

To sell, deliver and support Business Central, Microsoft relies entirely on its partners. Worldwide, there are as many as 3,500 Microsoft partners offering Business Central. And this number continues to grow. Whatever region you operate in, there is always a partner nearby to support you. Some partners offer Business Central 'vanilla', i.e. without any modifications, but in many cases functionality is added to Business Central in order to serve a niche market.

"Business Central should be the best and most secure ERP solution in the world for small and medium-sized organizations."

Here's what Microsoft has in mind with Business Central

Microsoft's ambition is clear: "Business Central must be the world's best and most secure ERP solution for small and medium-sized organizations."

It is becoming increasingly important to work with a modern, innovative and user-friendly ERP solution. Organizations that continue to work with old-fashioned business software face several risks:

  • Financial: systems constraints create constraints in business
  • Customer satisfaction: with old systems you can help customers less quickly and less adequately
  • Security: old software is vulnerable to hackers and data breaches
